Product Name History

Culsma PAWS is the current name for the complete software product: the AI workflows, web interface, app, account, workspace, data services, and MCP connection.

Culsma came first. It is the formal language and execution framework for executable laboratory protocols. Culsma PAWS belongs to that broader Culsma system and uses Culsma as its family name; PAWS identifies this particular software product. Culsma is therefore not a previous name for Culsma PAWS.

During development, parts of the product used separate working names. Some of these names may remain temporarily in pilot builds, URLs, configuration identifiers, test screenshots, or older support material.

Previous name What it referred to Current name
Hypersticker The web and mobile/desktop application used to review and manage laboratory data The Culsma PAWS web and app interface
Lamina The data, account, API, and MCP service behind the application The Culsma PAWS service layer

These were not separate products that users needed to purchase or connect independently. They were names for different parts of the system before the experience was unified.

You may temporarily see:

  • an old product name in a pilot interface or screenshot;
  • an MCP URL containing lamina;
  • an older invitation or support message referring to Hypersticker.

These identifiers are retained where changing them immediately could break an existing connection or saved link. Unless your support contact tells you otherwise, treat them as parts of Culsma PAWS.

Use Culsma PAWS for this software product in user-facing writing, training, support, and conversations. Use Culsma by itself only when referring to the language, execution framework, or the broader Culsma system. When reporting a problem, you may include the exact legacy URL or identifier you see so support can locate the affected component.
